COOP Services

1. FREE MEDICAL CHECK-UP / SIDC-CARE

SIDC hired a physician to render medical check-up. Such service is offered free to all members and their nearest relatives. Under the SIDC-CARE program, the cooperative extends subsidy to members who have been hospitalized by answering at most 50% of the hospital bill.


 

2. SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS / STUDY NOW, PAY LATER

SIDC grants college scholarship privilege to deserving sons and daughter of indigent members. The cooperative answers for the tuition and other miscellaneous fees plus monthly allowance. During summer, the student is given the option to train in the cooperative and receive the minimum wage as allowance.

Should a recipient failed to meet the minimum grade requirement, his parents may wish to apply for the Study Now, Pay Later Plan.


 

3. BARANGAY DEVELOPMENT FUND

The cooperative makes appropriation of fund to support the nearby barangays in their development projects. This is the extension of the cooperative services to the community.


 

4. POLLUTION CONTROL

The cooperative made efforts to control pollution by sending its concerned members to seminars, which tackles the basic information regarding the use of the technologically advanced and economically beneficial BIOGAS. The cooperative has also started to conduct training in the production of organic fertilizers from wastes - another big solution for problems of waste disposal. A more sophisticated system - waste water treatment plant - is also eyed for implementation.


5. SIDCIKAT

SIDCKAT is a newsletter published quarterly intended to foster the spirit of cooperativism through print. It chronicles the events, activities, plans, or any relevant issue about members, employees or the cooperative itself and the community at large. It has its own editorial staff that meets regularly for the purpose.


 

6. PATRONAGE REFUND ALLOCATION

Each year the cooperative distributes profits in the form of dividends. Typical to all cooperatives, patronage refund represents the share of members in the profits based on their patronage or the total purchases they made during year.


 

7. JOB OPPORTUNITIES

SIDC also offers job opportunities to qualified members or their nearest relatives by hiring them as employees. They are given preference as one criterion in the Hiring Process. Employees in the cooperative receive competitive compensation and benefit packages.


8. MORTUARY AID

The cooperative gives mortuary aid to the heirs of the deceased member in the amount of eighteen thousand pesos (P18,000.00) in cash.


 

9. SEMINARS AND TRAININGS

Other services offered by SIDC includes giving its members free training and timely seminars which are expected to upgrade the operations of their own businesses and the organization per se.


 

10. OUTREACH PROGRAM

Each year, SIDC brings graces to our less fortunate brothers and sisters usually during the Christmas Season. A fund-raising project is initiated to support this activity. In 1997, the SIDCKAT Staff spearheaded the Miss SIDC '97 Beauty Quest. From the proceeds of the contest, the cooperative was able to extend little help to less fortunate residents of the community. In 1998, the project SIDC-Rama, movie-showing, collected funds to grace shanties in the Smoky Mountain . In Christmas of 1999, the group distributed bags of goodies to poorer patients in the Batangas Regional Hospital .


11. MARKETING AND TECHNICAL

The cooperative assists its members in the marketing of their produce and helps in the technical aspect of their businesses.
